Who’s Getting a White Christmas?
Tis the season! It’s the first official day of winter and Christmas is around the corner. So who will be gifted the present of a couple feet or inches of the fluffy stuff this holiday season? Welp, pretty much no one I am afraid. Senor El Nino is being a real grinch keeping things too unseasonably warm even when there is a chance of precipitation.
The Forecast
With global warming and climate change making themselves known, there is no surprise mother nature has us on the naughty list this year. Giant dose of coal stuffed right down our stockings in New England this past weekend washing away any hopes of any remnants of white this Christmas. However there is a handful of good boys & girls out there that might see a dusting or so on Christmas morning. Most of the gifts will be falling in the PNW across Washington with Snoqualmie, Crystal Mtn and others forecast to measure up about 2 inches on 12/25. And a dusting barely registering may flurry in the Colorado Rockies with Steamboat and also our good friends at Aspen Mountain buckling in to shovel one fresh inch.
*Yes it will also snow all over Alaska. But F them. That’s essentially the North Pole and no wonder the man in red is hoarding some of the goods for himself this holiday season.
Tis The Season!
Trust me when I was starting to write this I was planning and hoping for a much snowier weather report and to share some good tidings. But, i think we need to shove all our collective Bah Humbugs in a sack. We need to remember it’s still early. Snow will come. Maybe, probably, hopefully. But in the meantime, even if we don’t have snow, we have each other. And we are so lucky and thankful this time of the year and always to share in this community with you. So from all of us at The Out of Collective, thank you and we are wishing you the happiest of holidays, merry skiing, and cheers to a bright new year!
