Care Less, Do More. – E19 – Rory Bosio

My guest on the show today is a longtime inspiration of mine, Rory Bosio. Rory took and unconventional path to becoming a professional ultra runner. “Training” took place on her own accord and in her own style. The whole coach thing, heart rate monitors, GPS tracking watches, and a schedule didn’t feel as free. She went backcountry skiing, cross country skiing, what she refers to as destination running, and on occasion when I was out climbing I would see Rory riding her beat up beach cruiser up Donner Summit. Rory began running ultramarathons in 2007. In 2013, on the sports grandest stage – the 104 mile Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc, she set the course record of 22:37:26. In 2014 she won it again. She is a pediatric intensive-care nurse and loves puff paint, bright colors, and wildflowers. One of my favorites to watch, Rory never took the sport too seriously from my perspective. She kept it loose and fun in the best of ways.

Where did I get the name Care Less, Do More? It’s a thought that I have often meaning care less about what people think of you, about the noise, about the chirping on social media and just do more. Get outside, put your phones down and do more.

Anon – Look cool, see better. Anon helmets and goggles are the perfect pair for your skull this skiing and riding season. They are sleek, stylish, and lightweight with the durability you would expect as part of the Burton family.

Sierra – Still the best original craft beer in the game? Yup! But, don’t sleep on their new 0% ABV Hop Splash. It’s a refreshing alternative and still delivers an IPA-inspired hop kick.

Darn Tough – Name says it all. Darn Tough Socks from Vermont, are exactly that. Merino wool and guaranteed for life. Treat your feet, you animal.
