Out of Bounds – E262 – Ulrich “Uba” Bartholmoes

Hello, hello, hello and welcome back to a brand-new episode of The Out Of Bounds podcast, right here on The Out of Collective Network. This week on the program we welcome Ulrich “Uba” Bartholmoes to the show. Uba is an ultra-endurance athlete and adventure cyclist, fresh off a near course record win at the 2023 Tour Divide. In his words, “he likes cycling a little bit.” But anyone who does these long distance races, (over 1,000 km) has a true passion for the sport and for pain. He and Adam talk about how he got into this crazy discipline of riding, his mental and physical training regimen, and battling the elements. We also learn about the science and necessity of proper nutrition. And we learn about Uba’s experience and eventual win at the longest race he’s ever done, this year’s Tour Divide which starts in Banff, Alberta and finishes 2,745 miles later in Antelope Wells, New Mexico. Listen now to get to know Uba better and also learn more about the Tour Divide. As always do not forget you can also find this interview and so much more on our YouTube channel, so be sure to like and subscribe.
