This week’s episode of Big Stick Energy features neuroscientist, Tallan Black who is currently working towards her PhD in neuropharmacology while studying the effects of cannabinoids—aka marijuana—on the human brain. Before researching our neuronal interactions with different substances, Tallen was researching concussions and traumatic brain injuries while writing her master thesis. We get Tallen’s academic and professional perspective on why there is prevalent drug use and high rates of addiction in ski towns; how weed actually affects the human brain; what happens when we experience a traumatic brain injury or concussion; how to best recover from a head injury and so many more rad topics.
