Hello, hello, hello and welcome back to a brand-new episode of The Out Of Bounds podcast, right here on The Out of Collective Network. On today’s program we welcome Jeremy McGee to the show. This was filmed in person at Sierra Nevada Factory in North Carolina, and we got to ride bikes down there with Jeremy as well. Jeremy is a professional athlete, consultant, and inspirational speaker. Now 46, Jeremy’s life changed forever in 2001 after a motorcycle accident left him paralyzed from the waist down. A career path as a lifeguard no longer on the table, he shifted gears with his first adaptive mountain bike in 2007. For better or worse sometimes Jeremy has pushed the limits living an adventurous outdoor life. And he has documented all of it, helping pave the way as a consultant to rate trails for adaptability and make them safe for everyone. In addition to some wild stories, he and Adam dive into the progression of adaptive equipment and abilities. They get deep into gear, business, and mental health. For Jeremy and for most people getting outdoors is the medicine not a cure, he shows that being strong sometimes means asking for help. Jeremy’s relationship with nature is also a big theme of the interview and an important point of reflection for all of us. This dude is a bad ass athlete and human, and he just happens to be paraplegic. He speaks with such intention, openness, and realness. It is truly refreshing.
