Hello, Hello, Hello.

Welcome back to another episode of The Out Of Bounds Podcast here on The Out Of Collective Network.
This week we have an interview with returning guest and friend of the show, Nikolai Schirmer.

Fresh off a torn achilles rehab, he still has managed two new film projects and a forthcoming web series on his YouTube channel. We get the inside scoop on the movies, hearing about mountain bro breakups with Krister Kopala in “Eulogy of a Steep Skier”. And also what possessed him to get back on the boat for a sequel in “Wavy 2”, as well as polar bear patrols in Svalbard under the midnight sun. Also in the episode, the conversation turns to what Nikolai is seeing in ski films these days; how and why they seem to be getting shorter and how he steals inspiration from climbing films.

He and Adam also chat about the business of ski movies; working with agents, knowing your worth and recognizing the film business model is marketing. There is also a deep dive into the gear he uses and likes, why living in Norway is as cool as it seems, and his love of memes.

Nikolai Schirmer is a professional skier, filmmaker and just a ridiculously nice guy. Enjoy his interview wherever you listen to pods and also available to watch on YouTube.
