This week on the Out of Bounds podcast, our guest is the Global Race Department Manager at FOX, Jodi Cortes (@cordijortes). That’s Fox Factory, not Fox Racing, or FOX News. And if you can’t make heads or tails of what the fox we’re talking about, then this episode is a must-listen.

At his core, Jordi is a bike mechanic whose goal is to make the riders’ experience better. On a day-to-day basis, his job entails a lot of product testing and athlete development and trying to meld the two to win races. He also has his own YouTube Series called Dialed. Now in its 4th season, it’s amazing how many followers he has watching not to learn about entire bikes but just one small part, suspension.

He and Adam talk about the shocking differences and intricacies in suspension. They also discuss the state of E-Bikes today and the dangers and etiquette that need to be addressed when you have dumb people doing dumb things quicker. Other topics Jordi and Adam get into on the pod include the exciting and frustrating rapid evolution of bikes, overcrowding of trails, and the evils of Strava.

The full episode is available now, so until next week FORYB!

And as always shoutout to this week’s sponsors:
