Hello, hello, hello and welcome back to a brand-new episode of The Out Of Bounds podcast, right here on The Out of Collective Network. We’re very excited this week to sit down live and in person with our friends from Fischer and Granite Backcountry Alliance to talk skiing and all things Wild Corn! But first things first who or what is Granite Backcountry Alliance? Based in North Conway, NH, GBA is a non-profit that has the goal of advancing backcountry skiing in New Hampshire and Western Maine by providing information about, maintaining, improving and creating a network of human powered, low impact network of trails, glades and runs for everyone to enjoy! In the interview we learn about volunteering with GBA, community building and the importance of events like Wildcorn. The uphill and backcountry space an be an intimidating one. But thanks to GBA it doesn’t have to be. They provide the instruction, education, and support for everyone to feel capable and included and do it safely. And Wildcorn is one of the most important and best examples of how they bring everyone together. It’s a music festival, ski festival and all around good time. It’s a 0.6 mile uphill to celebrate spring skiing with demos, music, cornhole, workshops and more.
